Jowen De Vera is a 20 year old and soon to be Mass Communication graduating student at Saint Louis University. He is known to be the President of STELA Repertory. He is one of the representative and STELA Repertory who represents in Drama Festival last March 14, 2019. For me they did a great job. Their hard work finally pay off. This is his last year being a President of a Club Organization but he told us that every member of STELA Repertory and the aspiring member of this club organization will do great and better performances.

STELA Repertory

It is a theater organization in STELA. STELA Repertory started around 1982 and for him it has been a very good run for them. There was never a time that their organization died. There were people who continue join them and performing with them.

It is organization where you cannot receive benefits from our school unlike the other organization they receive benefits from our school. He said that it’s not about the money but it’s about the family who they share their talents. Because every members of the STELA Repertory is the people you can trust, one call away. He know practically that money is important but when you think you learn more you won’t think of money anymore. It’s about doing your passion and want to impress the audience while performing at the stage.

He is also having a hard time studying while handling the a organization but when he accept the he is a Club President of organization he knows that situation how hard to be handling that organization but he accepts it and he knows he can do very well.

Inspirations

Jowen’s journey of pursuing his art started back in 2016 when he was inspired because his parents supported him all the way with no pressure. His parents is always saying that ‘’ Ang hilig hilig mong umarte’’. Gusto naming someday Makita ka sa stage mag perform sa harap ng maraming tao’’.

Since the beginning of his journey being Mass Communication student and doing his passion performing in front of many audience. His parents inspire and encourage him in reaching his dreams.

Challenges and risks

He face a lot of challenges because of his parents. He really push what he really loves to do even though sometimes he is having a hard time. They are having rehersal every day and having a hard time until they achieve the performance they really want. His parents is worried about his safety but they trust him and they know that he can do it. For him it’s hard to let go of art he started. In short he would never let go of art he started till death he would treasure and remember memories he started.

Message to the Aspiring soon to be STELA Repertory members:

He told us that if you are a type of the person who has a lot of hesitation having a fear performing in stage but you wanted to perform like you wanted to sing, dance and acting. STELA Repertory is the place where you can go to. They will not train you on how to act, sing and act but they will help you develop as a person and to the future STELA Repertory, Whatever we have accomplished as of today, as of this academic year. STELA Repertory will do better, will give more.
